Happy Lunar New Year, everyone! It’s the Year of the Rabbit (or Year of the Cat, if you’re celebrating the Vietnamese calendar). How are you guys celebrating?

We celebrated with lots… and lots… and lots of food. Oh man. I must say, having a Vietnamese boyfriend is awesome. ~_^



Plus, we’re back! And in the spirit of the new lunar year, we’re giving away that adorable Lunar Calendar dish towel in the first photo.

So what have I been doing the past month that’s kept me away from you guys? Well, for one thing, I now have a Tumblr page where I post about sushi (of course), sustainable seafood news, and any other fun Japanese-ish things I come across. I’m pretty excited about it. If any of you are on Tumblr and want more sushi in your day, feel free to follow me. ^_^

Plus on top of that, I’ve been dancing pretty much every day (I still want to be a ballerina when I grow up ~_^), coding a lot (I revamped my personal website… it’s rather enthusiastically “Allison”, I think… plus I’m doing tons of coding work. I’m available for hire, if anyone needs a website or any other programming done!), and, well, just living my life, which really isn’t all that exciting. But it keeps me busy… sometimes too busy. Definitely need to schedule in some more sushi like this delicious mackerel, don’t you think?



Ingredients
  • 1 oz sashimi-grade mackerel
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • green onion, sliced
Cooking Directions
  1. Thinly slice the mackerel on an angle.
  2. Mix the mustard, lemon juice, vinegar, and mayonnaise.
  3. Drizzle the mustard sauce over the mackerel, and sprinkle with green onion. Enjoy!
