Maki Recipes
After a long day of sushi making, I typically have some leftover ingredients from the different types of sushi that I made. What to do with all of the ingredients? Usually we just stick them back in the fridge and save them for another day of sushi making, but this time we decided to throw all our leftover ingredients in a roll… thus the Phuson was born! (The invention of this roll is completely attributed to Son - it uses all his favorite ingredients and now is his absolute favorite roll!
)
Makes 6 rolls, or 36-48 pieces.
Ingredients
- 6 sheets nori
- 3 cups sumeshi
- 1 small avocado
- 9 mini sausages
- 1 red pepper
- 6 stalks green onion
- 1 small bunch cilantro
- 4 oz smoked salmon
- 4 oz cream cheese
Cooking Directions
- Cook sushi rice.
- Slice the hot dogs in half, and slice up all other ingredients into small strips.
- Roll the sushi, using avocado, a few halves of mini hot dogs, red pepper, green onion, cilantro, smoked salmon, and cream cheese as your fillings.
- Serve with shoyu, wasabi, and ginger if desired. (Or you can eat it like Son with Sriracha Hot Sauce!) Enjoy!

Ugh… your site always makes me hungry, even if I’ve just eaten lunch
Yvo - hehe sorry! ….I think….
Woah. It’s not often I don’t like sushi but this is not my kind of roll. To each his own. I just can’t stomach sausage and cream cheese in one bite.
Hehe I can understand that! Son will eat just about anything, so he loved this roll (hence the roll being named after him!)
